UGC-NET June 2026: NTA Releases Subject-Wise Exam Schedule; Tests to Commence June 22

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially released the subject-wise schedule out for the UGC-NET June 2026 examination, setting the stage for thousands of aspirants nationwide. The exam is slated to be held in CBT (Computer-Based Test) mode, spanning from June 22 to June 30, 2026. This cycle, which has already seen significant interest from the academic community, will see testing conducted in two daily shifts: the first from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm, and the second from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm.

The NTA notification confirms that the testing process will begin on June 22 with subjects like Visual Art, Geography, and Labour Welfare in the first shift, while Computer Science and Applications and various language papers are scheduled for the afternoon shift. As the June testing window approaches, the agency has advised candidates to keep a close watch on the official portal. While technical glitches in the registration portal previously caused frustration for some applicants, the focus has now shifted to the logistical rollout of the examination.

Candidates are awaiting their city allotment details, which the NTA expects to display on its official website eight to ten days prior to the individual's scheduled exam date. For those appearing on the opening day, this means information regarding exam centers should be accessible between June 12 and June 14. Candidates are urged to verify their subject codes, shift timings, and allocated centers immediately upon the release of these documents to avoid last-minute confusion.

This year’s cycle introduces notable changes, including the integration of a new ‘Statistics’ paper and the addition of four new exam centers across North-Eastern states to improve accessibility.
