A routine purchase at a bustling religious gathering in Pune has sparked a police inquiry after a customer discovered a "Made in Pakistan" tag on a bedsheet. The incident, which has since gained significant traction on social media, occurred in the Chinchwad area, where thousands had congregated for the Sankashti Chaturthi celebrations near the Morya Gosavi Temple complex.

The woman who bought the item stated that the product appeared unremarkable at the time of purchase. It was only after she washed the bedsheet that the manufacturing label became clearly visible, revealing its origin. Disturbed by the find, she recorded a video documenting the tag and shared it online, publicly questioning how a product manufactured across the border had reached a local stall in Maharashtra.

Authorities Step In

The viral nature of the footage forced local law enforcement to take immediate cognizance of the matter. The Pimpri-Chinchwad Police have since constituted a special team to trace the supply chain of the stall in question.
