Authorities have increased the security detail at the home of the Cockroach Janta Party founder following his return from a high-profile protest in New Delhi.

Local authorities have reinforced the police presence at the MIDC Waluj residence of Abhijeet Dipke, the founder of the youth-led Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), as the organization’s nationwide campaign against examination irregularities gains momentum. Following his arrival in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar on Sunday morning, the security detail at his home was increased from 11 to 15 personnel, comprising officers from the local police station and the city headquarters.

A Call for Accountability

The security upgrade comes in the wake of Mr. Dipke’s participation in a demonstration at Jantar Mantar, New Delhi, on June 6. Having recently returned from the United States, the CJP founder joined protestors to demand the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. The movement, which has flourished as a digital-first campaign, is seeking government accountability regarding widespread allegations of malpractice in major competitive exams, including NEET, CBSE, CUET, and SSC recruitment tests.

A Tense Homecoming

Mr. Dipke’s return to Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar was marked by a private, emotional homecoming. After traveling from Delhi to Mumbai and completing the final leg of his journey via the Samruddhi Mahamarg, he was greeted by family members who had reportedly spent the last year in an undisclosed location due to safety concerns. Upon his arrival at the residence, his parents performed traditional rituals, including an 'aukshan,' to welcome him back.

Heightened Vigilance

Local law enforcement officials indicated that the decision to bolster security is intended to maintain public order and manage the significant influx of supporters and onlookers drawn to the CJP’s growing political influence. While the official stance cites crowd management, the move follows reports of threats against Mr. Dipke and recent incidents elsewhere, such as the detention of CJP members in Gorakhpur for attempting to burn an effigy of the Union Minister.

Future of the Movement

Addressing the gathering at his home, Mr. Dipke signaled that the Delhi protests were merely the inaugural phase of a broader, sustained campaign. He indicated that the CJP is currently formulating a roadmap for a nationwide movement, promising that details regarding further demonstrations will be disclosed in the near future. As the party continues to tap into youth frustrations over unemployment and the integrity of national testing systems, the administration remains on high alert in both the capital and the party leader's home district.
