CBSE Class 12 Re-evaluation Deadline Extended: Students Get Extra Day Amid Portal Glitches
CBSE Class 12 Verification, Re-Evaluation Deadline Extended | Check Last Date

The board has pushed the application window to June 7 following technical hurdles and widespread student complaints regarding the post-result services portal.
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has granted a one-day extension for students seeking verification and re-evaluation of their Class 12 board exam results. Following persistent reports of technical snags and accessibility issues on the official post-result services portal, the deadline has been moved from the midnight of June 6 to the midnight of June 7.
This decision comes as a relief to thousands of students who struggled to navigate the online system since it launched on June 2. The CBSE acknowledged the difficulties on social media, stating that the extension was implemented "in the interest of students" to ensure they receive adequate support to complete the application process.
A Portal Plagued by Technical Woes
The launch of the digital portal was intended to streamline the post-result process, allowing students to verify marks or apply for a comprehensive re-evaluation of their answer scripts. However, the rollout was quickly overshadowed by reports of website disruptions and login errors. For many, the frustration was compounded by concerns over the On-Screen Marking (OSM) system.
The situation escalated after several students alleged that the scanned copies of their answer sheets, provided by the board, did not match their original handwriting. These claims of potential mismatches within the digital evaluation framework have sparked significant controversy, leading to scrutiny from both student bodies and political circles. The Cabinet Secretariat has since moved to address these systemic concerns by establishing a one-member committee to investigate the reported discrepancies.
Navigating the Application Process
Despite the ongoing administrative challenges, the portal remains the primary interface for students to flag specific evaluation issues. According to board guidelines, candidates can report a variety of discrepancies, including missing pages, uncounted supplementary sheets, errors in graph or map markings, and instances where the evaluation was conducted against an incorrect question paper set.
Students who remain dissatisfied with their scores are encouraged to use the remaining time to finalize their submissions. While the board has already processed over 56,000 applications, the extension is expected to accommodate those who were previously locked out of the system due to the portal’s instability. Candidates are advised to monitor the official portal closely to ensure their applications are submitted well before the revised June 7 deadline.
