The Malayalam film industry is in mourning following the death of National Award-winning actor Salim Kumar, who passed away at 57 on Saturday night. Salim Kumar had been admitted to the facility earlier that day after experiencing a sudden onset of fever and severe breathing difficulties. According to family sources and medical reports, his condition deteriorated rapidly despite immediate intervention. Hospital records indicated that he was suffering from an acute aggravation of COPD, combined with pneumonia and sepsis, which eventually led to multi-organ complications. Despite being moved to the Intensive Care Unit and placed on ventilator support, he could not be revived.
