Delhi Police Denies FIR Against CJP Protestors Amid Heightened Security at Jantar Mantar

Authorities have dismissed online speculation regarding legal action against demonstrators, confirming that no cases were registered following the recent youth-led gathering.

The Delhi Police has officially refuted viral social media reports claiming that an FIR was registered against protesters associated with the "Cockroach Janta Party" (CJP) movement. Following a demonstration at Jantar Mantar that drew significant public attention, rumours began circulating online alleging that the force had initiated legal action against the attendees.

In a statement aimed at curbing the spread of misinformation, the police urged citizens to rely exclusively on official channels for updates. "It is clarified that no such FIR has been registered," the department noted, emphasizing that the circulation of unverified claims creates unnecessary public confusion.

Preventive Measures and Crowd Control

While the claims of criminal charges were debunked, the protest did see active intervention from law enforcement. Officials confirmed that six individuals were taken into preventive custody during the event. According to police sources, these detentions were a tactical move to maintain law and order after intelligence inputs suggested a high risk of confrontation between opposing groups.

The situation at Jantar Mantar remained largely under control, with police successfully preventing any major untoward incidents. The preventive measures were part of a broader strategy to ensure that the protest, organized by the youth-led group, concluded without violence.
