Cockroach Janata Party Demands Education Minister’s Resignation Following JEE Data Breach

The Cockroach Janata Party has launched a scathing attack on the government, calling for the immediate removal of the Union Education Minister after a massive security lapse compromised sensitive student information.

The fallout from a significant cybersecurity failure within the JEE (Advanced) 2026 results portal continues to intensify, with the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) leading the charge against the administration. Following the unauthorized exposure of private records belonging to nearly 200,000 students, the party held a press conference in New Delhi on Thursday to demand accountability. Leaders of the group explicitly called for Prime Minister Narendra Modi to sack Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, citing a total failure in oversight regarding the country’s digital examination infrastructure.

A Systemic Failure of Security

The incident, which came to light after a teenage cybersecurity researcher flagged the vulnerability, involved a cloud storage configuration error that left candidate details and admit-card documents accessible without proper authentication. Ashutosh Ranka, the newly appointed spokesperson for the CJP and an alumnus of both IIT Kanpur and the London School of Economics, did not mince words when addressing the press. He argued that the exposure of names, phone numbers, and images of two lakh candidates was a damning indictment of the current state of cybersecurity safeguards in public institutions.

"In a nation that is globally recognized for producing top-tier tech talent, it is an embarrassment that the government cannot secure a basic results portal," Ranka said. He emphasized that the situation poses a grave risk to the future of the nation’s youth, asserting that the education system has been effectively "run into the ground" under the current leadership.

Dismissing IIT Roorkee’s Defense

The CJP also directed sharp criticism at IIT Roorkee, the nodal body responsible for conducting this year’s examination. The institute had previously attempted to downplay the severity of the breach by stating that the exposed data existed only in a "read-only" format. Ranka dismissed this explanation as inadequate, arguing that the technical limitation did not mitigate the fact that highly sensitive student information was exposed to the public.

He questioned the competence of the officials overseeing the project, pointing out the irony that teenagers were the ones identifying critical vulnerabilities while the responsible authorities failed to prevent the exposure. The CJP is now mobilizing for further action, including a planned protest at Jantar Mantar on June 6, to keep the pressure on the government to address these systemic lapses and restore trust in the national examination process.
