Breaking: Delhi Police Arrest Two Sharp Shooters of Himanshu Bhau Gang; Weapons Recovered

Law enforcement officials have apprehended two prominent operatives of the Himanshu Bhau network following high-stakes encounters, marking a significant blow to the gang’s extortion and violence operations.

The Delhi Police Special Cell has confirmed the capture of two high-profile sharp shooters associated with the Himanshu Bhau gang, a transnational criminal syndicate currently orchestrating a wave of violence from abroad. The arrests, which followed a coordinated intelligence-led operation, saw the suspects apprehended after brief but intense shootouts in the outskirts of the national capital. Authorities recovered several semi-automatic pistols, live ammunition, and used cartridges from the scene, providing critical physical evidence linking the men to recent targeted attacks.

A Trail of Violence

The suspects, identified as Deepak and Atul, have been linked to a series of brazen criminal acts that have rattled the capital and neighboring regions. Investigations have tied Deepak to the chilling murder of a retired Delhi Police sub-inspector in Mundka, as well as a shooting incident outside a Begumpur businessman’s residence earlier this year. Atul, a native of Haryana, is reportedly embroiled in a murder case in Rohtak and the violent firing at a Gurgaon car showroom that left employees and even a pet animal injured.

Police reports indicate that the gang’s activity often stems from extortion demands originating from the US, where Himanshu Bhau—one of India’s youngest and most wanted fugitives—continues to command his network. Bhau, who is wanted by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) for over 20 criminal cases including murder, has been engaged in a bloody turf war with rival syndicates, leading to multiple fatal retaliations across Delhi and Haryana.

Sustained Surveillance and Encounters

The operation to nab the shooters was the culmination of weeks of sustained surveillance. In the Najafgarh area, Special Cell teams intercepted the duo, leading to an exchange of fire that resulted in injuries to both suspects. They were subsequently transported to a hospital and are reported to be out of danger. A separate, related operation by the Gurugram police also targeted members of the same network, highlighting the multi-agency pressure currently being applied to interstate criminal gangs.

The arrests are viewed as a vital success in the ongoing effort to dismantle the Bhau gang’s structure. By interrogating the suspects, investigators aim to map the network’s future targets and uncover the logistics behind their interstate operations. As security agencies tighten their grip on these syndicates, the focus remains on tracing the broader connections that allow foreign-based gangsters to wield influence and carry out targeted killings within the national capital.
