Central to this vision is a plan to develop 10 gigawatts (GW) of nuclear energy capacity by 2035, with the company already scouting for project sites.

This pivot into the nuclear space follows the December 2025 passage of the 'SHANTI' bill—the Sustainable Harnessing and Advancement of Nuclear Energy for Transforming India Bill. The legislation marks a significant departure from state-run monopolies, unlocking doors for private players to participate in nuclear fuel mining, reactor operations, and research and development. For the Adani group, this is not just an entry into a new vertical but a calculated attempt to secure the nation’s energy future.

Scaling the Power Grid

Beyond nuclear power, the group is aggressively expanding its conventional and renewable footprint. The overarching goal is to hit a 45 GW capacity in the coming years. This is supported by international collaborations, most notably with Bhutan’s Druk Green Power Corporation, which will see the development of a 5,000 MW hydropower project. Simultaneously, the group is pouring over Rs 1.5 lakh crore into hard infrastructure for the 2025-26 fiscal year, cementing its role as a primary engine of India's utility growth.

The group is also tightening its internal operations. Gautam Adani outlined a new three-tier organizational structure designed to flatten the bureaucracy and bring decision-making closer to the ground-level sites. By offloading non-core activities to Global Capability Centers (GCCs) or specialized partners, the management hopes to streamline accountability across its sprawling interests, which now include a burgeoning aerospace manufacturing ecosystem. Through partnerships with Leonardo and Embraer, the group is building integrated capabilities in helicopter and aircraft production, alongside its existing defense contributions in drones and missile systems.
