The Wait Ends: KEAM 2026 Rank List Set to Drop This Evening

After a week-long delay to accommodate revaluation outcomes, Kerala’s CEE is set to publish the final engineering and pharmacy merit lists today.

For over a lakh of students across Kerala, the tension that has been mounting since mid-June is finally hitting a fever pitch. The Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE) has confirmed that the KEAM 2026 rank list will be released later this evening. This document is the ultimate decider for thousands of aspirants eyeing seats in the state’s prestigious engineering and pharmacy colleges.

The path to today’s announcement hasn't been straightforward. Originally earmarked for June 20, the release was pushed back by the authorities to ensure fairness. The delay was a direct response to the CBSE Class 12 revaluation results, which left many students with updated academic records. By extending the marks submission window until June 23, the CEE aimed to prevent any candidate from losing out on a better rank due to a technicality in their score profile.

The Numbers Game

The scale of the competition is immense. Out of the 1,48,146 candidates who registered for the entrance examination, 1,08,409 are vying for a spot in engineering, while 39,737 are competing for pharmacy seats. To even make it onto this final list, students had to secure a minimum of 10 normalised marks in the entrance test.

For the engineering stream, the ranking process is a precise balancing act. The authorities use a 50:50 weightage formula, where the final index score is calculated out of 600 marks. This combines the performance in the KEAM entrance test (300 marks) with the normalised Class 12 marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (300 marks). This standardised approach is designed to create a level playing field for students coming from varied backgrounds, whether they studied under the CBSE, CISCE, or the Kerala State Board.

Why it matters

The release of this list is more than just a data dump; it signals the start of the high-stakes centralized admission window. For students, this is the moment where months of coaching, late-night revisions, and the anxiety of board examinations finally translate into a tangible rank. The shift toward a 50:50 weightage model underscores a systemic move toward acknowledging that professional success requires both conceptual depth in entrance exams and consistent performance in secondary school. As the counselling process kicks off, the focus now shifts from "how to study" to "how to choose"—a critical juncture that will define the career trajectories for the state’s next generation of engineers and pharmacists.

How to Check Your Rank

Once the portal goes live this evening, candidates can access their results by visiting the official CEE website at cee.kerala.gov.in. It is advisable to keep your registration details and login credentials ready. Given the high traffic expected on the server, a brief wait time is normal. If you encounter issues, ensure your browser is updated and avoid repeated refreshes.
