Pune Police Raid ‘Project X’ Party at Tulapur Bungalow; Ganja, Hookah and Illegal Alcohol Seized
‘Project X’ party busted at Pune bungalow: 150-plus attendees, ganja, hookah products

Over 150 guests were rounded up by the Crime Branch in an early morning sweep at a secluded bungalow on the outskirts of Pune.
The Pune City Police Crime Branch dismantled an unauthorized late-night event dubbed "Project X" in the early hours of Sunday, uncovering a scene of widespread regulatory violations. Acting on a tip-off, a substantial force comprising 15 officers and 65 constables descended upon a bungalow in Tulapur village, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Lonikand police station, at approximately 2:30 am.
A Massive Operation
Upon storming the venue, investigators found 156 individuals—107 men and 49 women—in attendance. Authorities confirmed that among the group, three attendees were identified as being under the age of 21. The sheer scale of the gathering suggests a well-coordinated, albeit illegal, operation that bypassed standard safety and excise protocols.
During the search, the police recovered quantities of ganja and seized ten cup pots containing banned hookah flavours. Furthermore, the raid uncovered a significant cache of alcohol valued at approximately Rs 9,22,000. While the event organizers possessed a liquor permit, police noted that it had expired at 11:30 pm on June 6, rendering the alcohol being served at the time of the raid completely illegal.
Organizers Under Scrutiny
The police have identified Aiman Sheikh of Blaze Entertainment and Yash Chaudhary of Star Light Entertainment as the principal figures behind the event. As the investigation deepens, authorities are working to determine how invitations were disseminated to such a large crowd and are currently questioning several people to establish the ownership of the bungalow.
The incident highlights a growing trend of "farmhouse" or "bungalow" parties hosted on the city's periphery, often designed to evade the stricter enforcement of noise and licensing regulations found within the Pune city limits. As the investigation continues, the police are expected to look into whether these recurring events are being used as fronts for the distribution of illicit substances.
