KEAM 2026 Rank List Released: Engineering and Pharmacy Aspirants Can Now Check Their Merit Positions

The wait is over for over 1.4 lakh students as Kerala’s Commissioner for Entrance Examinations publishes the final merit rankings for state admissions.

The silence at the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE) office in Thiruvananthapuram finally broke today, June 27, as the long-awaited keam rank list 2026 went live. For the 1,08,409 students eyeing engineering seats and the 39,737 candidates vying for pharmacy spots, the official portal is now the only destination that matters. If you have been refreshing your browser, the rank list out status is confirmed, and your merit position is ready for viewing.

This year’s process faced a brief administrative pause, leaving many students anxious. Officials held back the release to integrate revised Class 12 marks following the recent board revaluation results. By allowing students to update their academic records, the CEE aimed to ensure the rank calculation was as precise as possible before the counselling and seat allotment stages officially commence.

How the Final Index is Calculated

The keam merit system is a balancing act of two distinct academic worlds. For the engineering stream, the final index score is capped at 600 marks. Half of this—300 marks—is derived directly from the entrance examination performance. The remaining 300 marks are drawn from the qualifying Class 12 examination, focusing on Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.

To maintain a level playing field, the state employs a standardisation method. Whether a student cleared their boards through the Kerala State Board, CBSE, or CISCE, the system adjusts these scores to ensure no single board holds an unfair advantage. Only those who secured a minimum of 10 normalised entrance marks were even considered for this final list.

Why it Matters: The Bigger Picture

The release of this link marks the transition from the "exam season" to the high-stakes "admission season." In a competitive landscape where every decimal point in a scorecard can be the difference between a top-tier college and a waitlisted seat, the administrative delay was a necessary evil. By prioritizing accuracy over speed, the CEE has signaled a commitment to a transparent meritocracy.

For students, the next few days are critical. With the rankings now public, the focus shifts entirely to option entry. The patterns observed in this year’s data—especially the heavy volume of applicants—suggest that the upcoming counselling rounds will be intense. Aspirants should keep their login credentials and verified marks handy, as the window for seat allotment is expected to move quickly now that the administrative roadblocks have been cleared.
