The Joint Entrance Examination Council, Uttar Pradesh (JEECUP), has officially released the provisional answer key for the 2026 polytechnic entrance examination. For the thousands of students who sat for the computer-based tests conducted across the state between June 2 and June 9, this release serves as the first major step toward gauging their chances for admission into sought-after diploma and technical programmes.

Candidates can now access their individual response sheets and the master provisional answer key by logging into the official portal at jeecup.admissions.nic.in. The process requires students to input their application number along with their password or date of birth. Once logged in, students can cross-reference their marked answers against the council’s official keys to estimate their final scores based on the prescribed marking scheme—where four marks are awarded for a correct response and one mark is deducted for each incorrect attempt.

The Objection Window

Recognising that errors can occur in the initial evaluation, the council has officially opened an objection window. Aspirants have a strictly defined timeframe of four days to scrutinise the provisional findings and challenge any answers they believe are incorrect. Given the competitive nature of these admissions, this window is a critical safeguard, ensuring that the final merit list is as accurate as possible before the formal results are declared.
