IIT Admissions Get a Boost: JOSAA Adds 4,470 Seats with IISc Bangalore Joining the Fray

The most significant development in this year’s primary admission cycle is the debut of the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore, in the JOSAA process. For the first time, 125 seats at this premier research institution will be filled through this centralized window. These spots cover specialized, high-demand programs such as Mathematics and Computing, Aerospace Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, and Mechanics and Computing.

This year, the counseling process—which kicked off on June 2—encompasses 138 institutions. The expanded list includes 23 IITs, 31 NITs, 26 IIITs, and 56 GFTIs, along with IIEST Shibpur.
