From Marriage Vows to Legal Battles: The Unsettling Rise of Marital Disputes Among Bihar’s New BPSC Teachers
'खुद को सिंगल बताकर नौकरी पाई है...'BPSC टीचर के पति का गंभीर आरोप, रिश्ते बिगड़े तो खोली पोल
Accusations of deception, broken promises, and infidelity have cast a long shadow over the recent recruitment drives, turning domestic disputes into public spectacles.
The dream of a stable government job, secured through the rigorous BPSC exam, was supposed to be a milestone for many families in Bihar. Instead, for some, the appointment letters have become the catalyst for bitter legal and social confrontations. Recently, the state has witnessed a disturbing trend where the post-recruitment phase has triggered high-voltage domestic dramas, reminiscent of past high-profile public controversies, leading to intense scrutiny of the teachers involved.
In one such instance in Muzaffarpur, a teacher appointed under the TRE-1 phase now faces an official investigation. Her husband, Pravin Kumar Vishwakarma, alleges that his wife, Bindu Vishwakarma, deliberately misrepresented her marital status as "single" during the application process to secure her post. The complaint, filed by the husband’s family with the District Education Officer, claims the deception was a calculated move to manipulate the recruitment criteria. While Bindu has denied the allegations and indicated she will present her side in court, the department has launched a probe into the veracity of her documents.
Parallel to this, the case of Gunjan Kumari, a teacher in Vaishali, has gripped social media attention. Her husband, Aman, claims he liquidated his ancestral property and worked tirelessly to support his wife’s education, only to be abandoned after she cleared the BPSC teacher recruitment drive. Aman alleges that during her training, Gunjan grew close to a college acquaintance and eventually left him and their ten-year-old son. Gunjan has vehemently rejected these claims, dismissing them as a "one-sided media trial" and asserting that her husband's financial contributions were linked to his own medical emergencies rather than her academic journey.
A Pattern of Distrust
These incidents are not isolated; they reflect a growing tension within households where the socio-economic dynamics shift abruptly following the attainment of a government salary. In the Vaishali case, the conflict spilled onto the streets, with public confrontations outside the school premises drawing police intervention. The inclusion of the couple's young son in the public discourse, with the child reportedly making claims about his mother’s conduct, highlights how deeply these disputes have fractured family units.
The Bigger Picture
Why does this matter? Beyond the individual grievances, these cases raise serious questions about the integrity of the recruitment process and the societal toll of rapid upward mobility. When a job candidate’s marital status becomes a focal point of investigation, it forces education authorities to become arbiters of personal lives, potentially overwhelming administrative bandwidth. Furthermore, the "Jyoti Maurya-esque" narrative being spun on social media risks creating a culture of suspicion that may discourage women from pursuing career advancements. As these cases move through the court system, they serve as a stark reminder that the transition to professional independence can, in the absence of transparency, trigger unintended and destructive domestic consequences.
